What standards do our products align with?

There are several sets of standards used across the United States. Individual states determine what standards are used in their schools. Teach Love Autism resources can support working on many of the skills incorporated into these state standards across the United States and many other countries. Many of the resources were created based on the Common Core State Standards but, can also be utilized within the other types of educational standards listed below.


Here is a bulleted list of the different types of educational standards used across the U.S.:


Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
Subjects: English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics

  • Adopted by 41 states and the District of Columbia

    Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
  • Subject: Science
  • Adopted by 20 states and the District of Columbia


State-Specific Standards

  • Examples:
    • Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
    • Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL)
    • Indiana Academic Standards
    • Florida State Standards


College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS)

  • Focus: Preparing students for post-high school success


Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Standards

  • Focus: Emotional well-being and interpersonal skills
  • Examples: Illinois, Washington


Culturally Responsive Standards

  • Focus: Equity, inclusion, and representation of diverse backgrounds
  • Example: California


Early Learning Standards

  • Focus: Pre-K through early elementary foundational skills
  • Varies by state (often included in state-specific standards)


These standards vary by state but aim to provide guidelines for student achievement in different subject areas across grade levels.

  • Aligned with college and career expectations
  • Based on rigorous content and the application of knowledge through higher-order thinking skills
  • Built upon the strengths and lessons of current state standards
  • Informed by other top-performing countries to prepare all students for success in our global economy and society
